Supporting Children Through Meaningful Programs and Community Care

About OUr Programs

What We Do

At Carlton Foundation for Kids, our programs are centered on one simple belief: every child deserves comfort, encouragement, and a reason to smile. Through hospital-based support, community partnerships, and donor-funded initiatives, we work to create meaningful moments for children and families across Northeast Florida.

Featured Program

The Toy Closet

The Toy Closet is the heart of Carlton Foundation for Kids. Located at Baptist Medical Center Clay, this program helps provide comfort and joy to children admitted through the ER by giving them the opportunity to receive a toy during their visit. Each week, dedicated volunteers shop for and restock the closet with carefully selected items children will genuinely enjoy. Every toy is chosen with intention, creating small but meaningful moments of comfort, distraction, and encouragement for children and families during stressful hospital experiences. This program is funded through annual events, sponsorships, donations, and generous community support, allowing the closet to be restocked week after week throughout the year.

Christmas Event

Annual Toy Drive

Our Annual Toy Drive is a special community effort focused on collecting toys for children in local hospitals during the holiday season. This initiative is separate from the Toy Closet and helps extend support to children through broader hospital partnerships.

In December 2025 alone, 7,750 toys were collected, helping bring joy and comfort to children and families during one of the most meaningful times of the year. Through the generosity of donors, businesses, and community supporters, this program continues to grow and make a lasting impact.

Programs We Support

Supporting Children Beyond the Toy Closet

In addition to the Toy Closet and Annual Toy Drive, Carlton Foundation for Kids supports children and families through meaningful partnerships with local hospitals and community organizations. These efforts help expand our impact and allow us to serve children in a variety of ways throughout Northeast Florida. Our support includes initiatives that benefit newborns, families navigating pediatric care, and children receiving rehabilitation services. By working alongside trusted partners, we are able to provide thoughtful support where it is needed most.

Baby Bookworms

Through our relationship with Clay County Libraries, books are provided to help support early literacy and celebrate new life by giving a book to every newborn.

NICU Support

Funds and support are directed toward programs that benefit babies and families receiving care through the NICU at Baptist Medical Center Clay.

Children’s Rehab Support

The foundation also supports children receiving care through rehabilitation-focused programs, helping bring encouragement to families navigating longer healing journeys.
